An Indian gaur, injured in a fight with another one, was found dead at the Anamalai Tiger Reserve (ATR) near here during the late hours of Monday. According to officials, the gaur, a five-year-old male, was fighting with another gaur near Sarcarpathy forest at Pollachi Range. Officials found multiple injuries on the carcass.

As they were fighting on the road, a TNSTC bus approaching Sarcarpathi from Pollachi hit the animal, following which the bus was impounded. It was released after the driver’s statement was recorded.
