IGP rewards police personnel

Inspector General of Police, West Zone, P. Sivanandi on Monday felicitated police officers and personnel from Tirupur and Erode districts for their swift action and meticulous investigation.

Mr. Sivanandi held a meeting with the Deputy Inspectors-General of Police B. Bala Naga Devi (Coimbatore range) and G. Venkataraman (Salem range) and Superintendents of Police Kalidas Mahesh Kumar (the Nilgiris), N. Kannan (Coimbatore), A. Arun (Tirupur), T. Jayachandran (Erode), A. Pari (Namakkal) and J. Sudhakar (Dharmapuri).

The meeting discussed the periodical performance of the police, investigations into cases and their outcome and convictions.

The IG exhorted the officers to effectively combat crime, ensure better maintenance of law and order and improvement in detection and recovery rate.

The IGP gave away rewards to police officers and personnel of the Tirupur North Police Station for their meticulous investigation into a case of a woman being attacked with aruval and robbing of her gold chain. In a swift move, the police were able to secure the accused within 12 hours.

The IG also gave away rewards to police personnel from Bhavanisagar Police Station and Thingalur Police Station in Erode district for the swift efforts in solving two crime cases.
