Hop-on hop-off bus services in Coimbatore for Tamil meet

Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) will introduce hop-on hop-off bus services in Coimbatore city for a week to cash in on the World Classical Tamil Conference (June 23-27),. “This is the first time that several services are being introduced in Coimbatore. The hop-on hop-off tour with three buses will be introduced two days prior to the actual event. It will be extended if there is a good response. During this period, we are also thinking of operating services to Mysore and Bangalore from Coimbatore,” a TTDC official told The Hindu .

As per the itinerary, the hop-on hop-off bus will cover CODISSIA, Saradhamba temple, Koniamman temple, botanical garden, Maruthamalai temple, Perur temple and railway station. The fare per person is Rs.250.

TTDC has also announced five one-day special package tours, starting and ending at Coimbatore, covering Udhagamandalam, Topslip, Karamadai and Maruthamalai. The tariff includes transport, entry fee, toll charges, parking fee, food and accommodation. Two-day tours will cover Mettupalayam, Kallar farm, Pykara, Mudumalai, Udhagamandalam and Coonoor.

TTDC has also prepared a brochure listing places of interest, temples, hotels, tourist facilities and connectivity.
