Judge of the Madras High Court Justice R. Sudhakar on Friday morning inspected the Regional Judicial Academy building that is coming up in the city near Race Course. According to the sources, Justice Mr. Sudhakar went around the building, saw the facilities that were coming up there and suggested a few things to be done.
The Regional Judicial Academy, once opened, would train judicial officers and also employees in the judiciary in the western region.
The building was coming up at Rs. 9 crore. It would have an auditorium that could accommodate 200 persons, a library and a research library, two lecture halls, computer training centre and much more. The sources said that the objective was to make available a regional academy, so that people will no longer have the need to travel to Chennai to undergo training at the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy. A similar regional judicial academy was coming up in Madurai, the sources said.
Senior judges, senior advocates and experts in various fields would address the judicial officers and others at the judicial academy. In short, it was an in-service training programme. Judges in Coimbatore accompanied Justice Mr. Sudhakar.
