The traffic wing of the Coimbatore City Police (East) deployed 19 personnel, led by Inspector K. Udhayakumar, to regulate the traffic and prepare a green corridor for the harvested organs to reach P.S.G. Hospital in a mere four minutes. The ambulance with a police escort started from K.G. Hospital at 10.50 a.m. and reached PSG Hospital at 10.54 a.m.

The ambulance sped past seven signals on the busy Avanashi Road, covering a distance of a little more than six km. Though there was cooperation from the public, a couple of vehicles managed to enter the route from the arterial roads but gave way for the ambulance and escort vehicle – that came speeding behind them with their headlights on.

Police said that the traffic was blocked only for seven minutes. They said that movement of vehicles on the K.G. Hospital to P.S.G. Hospital stretch was blocked only for three minutes before the ambulance left K.G. Hospital. Signals on the way were released soon after the ambulance crossed every two signals. The ambulance carrying organs with police escort left the K.G. Hospital at 10.50 a.m. and crossed Anna Statue, Lakshmi Mills Junction, and R.K. Mills Junction in just one minute gap each.
