Stink emanating from two garbage containers placed in front of a shopping complex on Arts College Road is causing hardships to passersby and occupants of the complex.

The complex has more than 100 shops and offices, and 30 houses.

A lawyer having his office near the complex said that its owner has failed to remit tax to the corporation, so the civic body was not removing the garbage.

The complex does not have a water connection. The Corporation resorting to such tactics instead of proceeding with legal action to recover tax dues, was unacceptable, says those at the complex.

Civic body officials promised to look into the grievance and take necessary action.
