Ganja seized; four taken into custody

A raid by police to crack down on peddling of ganja led to the arrest of three persons at different places in the city and also seizure of over three kg of ganja.

A team led by Saibaba Colony Police Inspector R. Srinivasalu intercepted a motorcyclist and found H. Mansoor (26) of Kavundampalayam in possession of 1.5 kg ganja. The vehicle was also seized.

In two other incidents, the team arrested R. Ramesh (22) of Kanuvai and recovered from him 500 gm of ganja and N. Sathish Kumar (26) of Chidambaram for possession of 1.25 kg ganja.

In another incident, police arrested S. Mani alias Subramani (56) of Theppakulam and found him in possession of 100 gm ganja.

Police also seized a two-wheeler from him.
