The police on Sunday arrested nine persons allegedly involved in gambling at Chettipudur, near Negaman, and seized Rs. 6,000 from them.
Special team
A special team was formed on Monday to trace a 21-year-old girl who was abducted recently.
The police said that Sabari from Chinnaaripalayam had abducted her on Friday when she was alone at home near Natheygoundan palayam.
Man found dead
A man aged around 45 years was allegedly murdered at Kuppandanpalayam in Tirupur on Monday evening.
The police said that preliminary inquiry revealed that the murder had taken place elsewhere and the body was brought to the area.
The identity of the man was yet to be ascertained.
