Rs. 1.15 crore

donated to Isha

The Chief General Manager of State bank of India, Local Head Office, Chennai, B. Ramesh Babu handed over a cheque for Rs. 1.15 crore to Isha Education on Sunday to buy seven buses for their schools in Coimbatore, Tuticorin, Cuddalore, Salem, Villupuram, Nagercoil, and Dharmapuri.

It was received by the founder of Isha Foundation Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev.

Inauguration

Four toilet blocks with napkin incinerator constructed at a cost of Rs 3.5 lakhby the Coimbatore North Ladies Circle 11 at the Vellalore Government Higher Secondary School will be inaugurated on Tuesday by Anusha of Park Institutions and T. Satish Kumar of Milky Mist Dairy products. It is being done on March 8 to coincide with the Women’s Day celebrations.

Walkathon

Holding banners and posters promoting women empowerment, nearly 400 persons took part in a walkathon organised by EKTA, the women’s wing of VWR Lab Products Private Limited, at Race Course on Saturday to celebrate International Women’s Day. They took a pledge for parity to help women achieve their ambitions, challenge the conscious and unconscious bias, call for gender balanced leadership, and to do their best to create an inclusive and flexible culture. The event was flagged off by Shima Sendhil of Rathinam Educational Institutions, and Madan A. Senthil, Chairman of the institutions.
