Archana Patnaik assumed office as the 44 Collector of Coimbatore on Wednesday and happens to be the first woman Collector of Coimbatore since 1945.

Talking to reporters, Ms. Archana Patnaik said that de-silting of tanks, violation of town and country planning rules, action against buildings for deviation/violation would be studied.

She said that the problems relating to Solid Waste Management at Vellalore compost yard would be studied.

She said that the Monday grievances redressal programme would continue as usual and added that public can always send e-mail or SMS to her on issues/problems.

Inputs from the public would be paramount in dealing with problems, she added.

The mobile number for sending SMS and e-mail address would be announced very soon.

Glad we get a woman Collector who can sure show commitment to solve many citizens problems, including transport, building violations etc; Karunakaran did try to help but not much could be achieved due to other factors (political?) - our lady can act like Durga Sakti Nagpal and establish good governance; await the email and other contact data for approach; May GOD bless her, I pray to use her office for public good.

Respected Archana Madam,

Welcome to Kovai, known as the Manchester of South, unfortunately more
than 300 Textile Mills closed during rather, since,1997.The worst
nightmare of our populace is the cut throats running hospitals under
the name of charitable Trusts, they fleece the people under the pretext
of treatment.uncontrolled cutting of trees in public places is another
trend which should be addressed urgently.Encroachment of public
property is another cause for worry.Roads need to be widened to avoid
accidents daily causing deaths. But the people of Coimbatore is
considered very innocent, the reason why they are suffering.

Tamil Nadu is known as a state, which is famous for welcoming people
from all over the world to live with dignity and self Tamil
they say "Vazha vekara Ooru",but that has now become the bane of our
city, for crooks are taking advantage of such nice people.

But there are good leaders such as Ms.Vanitha Mohan of siruthuli, etc,
