School Education Department officials, Government school Headmasters, and teachers from eight Western districts were given training on online registration of candidates in employment exchange.
The Department of Employment and Training had organised the training here on Monday ahead of the Plus-Two examination results, scheduled to be announced on Friday.
According to A. Latha, Regional Deputy Director, Employment and Training, the students registering in Government schools would have the same seniority for 15 days.
If there any technical problems in a Government school, its students had the option of registering in another Government school.
As most students would have registered in Standard X itself, they must be instructed to bring registration details. This would enable them to simply update the existing application rather than create new ones. If 10 lakh students created new applications, it would overwhelm the servers, she said.
The registrations would commence after the mark sheets were given.
The Department of Employment and Training introduced online registration three years ago.
Officials from Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Erode, Tirupur, Coimbatore, and The Nilgiris took part in the programme.
Ms. Latha said that of the 6.93 lakh students who cleared Plus-Two in Tamil Nadu last year, around 5.04 lakh registered themselves with the employment exchanges.
In Coimbatore district 23,331 students registered last year.
