Draft photo electoral roll released

The district administration has published the draft photo electoral rolls for eight Assembly constituencies in the district on Monday, and invited applications from voters seeking changes in the rolls.

Special camps will be held on October 30 and November 6 for accepting applications. The final draft of photo electoral rolls would most likely be published on January 5, District Collector V.K. Shanmugam said.

Voter list

As per the draft, the district has 15,35,376 electors including 7,61,378 female voters.

Gobichettipalayam Assembly constituency tops the chart with 2,11,985 voters.

Voters in other Assembly segments are: Erode (East)–1,78,255, Erode (West)–1,98,377, Modakurichi–1,91,230, Perundurai–1,76,000, Bhavani–2,00,294, Anthiyur–1,77,089 and Bhavanisagar–2,02,146.

The document has been displayed at over 1,600 locations in the district, including revenue divisional and taluk offices, polling booths and post offices. The forms could be submitted till November 8. They should be backed by photocopies of family card and voter identity card of a family member.

Voters should submit the forms in person or through one of their family members. Forms not so submitted would not be accepted.

RDO R. Sukumar and senior officials were present when the draft electoral rolls was released on Monday by Mr. Shanmugam.
