Differences in AIADMK is sibling rivalry: Minister

The differences between the two AIADMK factions - AIADMK (Amma) led by Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and AIADMK (Puratchi Thalaivi Amma) led by former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam - were in the nature of sibling rivalry and they would be sorted out soon, Minister for Forests Dindigul C. Sreenivasan said here on Saturday.

Addressing reporters before leaving for Ooty, he said that whatever adverse comments or accusations one group made against the other should not be blown out of proportion. Or for that matter what AIADMK deputy general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran had reportedly said about Mr. Palaniswami. “Take it easy should be policy.”

For whatever comments and accusations Mr. Dhinakaran had made, Mr. Palaniswami had responded and he had nothing more to add. The factions would soon unite and the AIADMK government would complete its full term.

Asked if the compromise formula between the factions included deputy chief minister’s post for Mr. Panneerselvam, Mr. Sreenivasan said it was media speculation and nothing more.

The Chief Minister had constituted a team for the merger and the team would take forward the discussions.
