C.V. Raman School for IIT-JEE is conducting the ‘Hunt for Junior C.V. Raman – 2013 – The Science Talent Test.’
A release from the organiser says that the test is an opportunity for students to discover the hidden talents in them. It will also serve as a platform for self-assessment. The organiser will present study scholarships and cash awards to students who perform well in the examination.
The Hindu is the media partner for the event.
The examination will have a combination of objective questions, covering all topics in science and mathematics. It will also have questions to test students’ IQ (intelligence quotient) for overall assessment. The examination will have two rounds, the first of which – the preliminary – will be conducted in schools. The top 250 students from each standard from all schools will qualify for the finals. The finals will be at an examination venue, which the organiser will inform prior to January 31, 2013.
Students in Standards V, VI, VII, VIII, IX and X are eligible to take the examination. But they ought to be bona fide students. The release says that the preliminary round will be held between January 7 and 11 and has a duration of an hour and 30 minutes. The results will be announced on January 25.
On February 3, the final round for Standard X students will be held. On February 10, the final round will be held for students of Standards V, VI, VII, VIII and IX.
All the finals will be of two-hour duration. The results will be declared on February 14. Prizes will be distributed on February 17.
Top 30 students in each Standard (across schools) based on their performance in finals will be awarded. Students ranking from 31 to 100 will get certificate of merit and cash voucher. The title winners will get trophies.
