S. Gayathri (30) and her husband B. Selvakumar (36) suffered burns after a fire broke out when they were asleep in their house at Oothukadu Road near Pollachi on Thursday night.
The Pollachi East Police said that Gayathri is a computer operator in a private firm and Selvakumar, a taxi driver.
According to the police, the woman who suffered 80 per cent burns, was critical has been admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. Selvakumar suffered minor injury. Preliminary inquiry revealed that her nighty caught fire from the kerosene lamp.
