The Coimbatore Corporation Council recently resolved to request the Highways Department to widen the service road on the north of the Avanashi Road flyover so as to facilitate easy movement of vehicles from the service road to Krishnasamy Road.
Special resolution
A special resolution the Mayor P. Rajkumar moved said that the Corporation wanted the Highways Department to widen the road till the Syrian Church Road junction for smooth traffic flow.
Assistant commissioners
The second resolution Mr. Rajkumar moved was for the Corporation appointing two assistant commissioners from among its eligible employees and do away with the practice of taking in people in the rank of Deputy Collectors from other departments.
Until now, two of the four assistant commissioners are from other departments.
