COIMBATORE: Coimbatore Corporation has urged people to take up construction of rain water harvesting structures when they construct new houses, buildings or add to the existing structures or renovate old ones.

In a release issued here recently, the Corporation said that residents in all the 100 wards would do well to take up RWH construction when they construct new buildings, construct additional rooms to existing ones or construct concrete roofs to existing structures.

The release said that the Corporation had also asked its engineers to include the RWH structures when they design and take up construction of new buildings in their wards. Likewise, it had also asked licensed building surveyors who prepare plans to include the structures in the plan for approval.
