“Obtaining a degree is not the ultimate as every student should strive hard to continue the learning process even after getting employment. Besides the academic excellence, one should be honest, sincere and committed to succeed in their profession,” said V. Iraianbu, Principal Secretary to State Government.
Delivering the convocation address at NIFT-TEA College of Knitwear Fashion here on Sunday, he called upon the youth to consider their graduation as a visa to prospective careers in their respective domains.
A total of 121 students who completed their undergraduate studies and 20 students who passed out in postgraduate courses, in 2011, received their degree certificates issued by Bharathiar University, from Mr. Iraianbu. The undergraduate courses include B.Sc. in four disciplines - Apparel fashion designing, Fashion apparel management, Apparel manufacturing and merchandising, and Garment production and processing.
The post graduate courses offered at the NIFT-TEA institute were MBA in Apparel business and M.Sc. in Apparel production.

Of those passed, five students obtained first rank in Bharathiar University.
The rank holders were Treesa Selin John in B.Sc. (Apparel fashion designing), V. Diwakar in B.Sc. (Fashion apparel management), S. Sriraghavi in B.Sc. (Apparel manufacturing and merchandising), S. Boopal in B.Sc. (Garment production and processing) and V. Veerasaranya in M.Sc (Apparel production).
