A three-day construction material exhibition took off at Padmavathi Ammal Cultural Centre in Coimbatore on Friday.

According to M. Ilango of Innovative Trade Fairs which has organised the expo, this is the 23 edition of Constructive 2012 and it has 110 stalls. The participants include material manufacturers and suppliers from Coimbatore, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune. A wide range of interior and exterior products and construction materials such as eco-clay bricks, bath fittings, artificial plants, designer tiles, imported furniture, paints, cladding material and roofing tiles are on display. The exhibition highlighted the latest trends in the construction materials.

Mr. Ilango said the focus of the event was to enable consumers who were constructing a house or planned to construct one know more about the latest products, eco-friendly and cost-effective materials that were available in the market.

The exhibition is open from 10.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. till August 26.

The organisers had added three features to the event: consultancy would be provided free of cost on interior designing and new concepts in gardening. There was also a collection of photographs on elevation designs from different parts of the country. This would give an idea on the different elevations to those who plan to construct a house, he said.
