Congress projecting Indira, Rajiv for political gains: BJP

September 19, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - COIMBATORE:

Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Pon. Radhakrishnan has accused the Congress of projecting Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi by sidelining Mahatma Gandhi for political gains.

Talking to reporters here on Friday, he said it was part of the Congress’ strategy to play politics by making a issue of the BJP government’s decision to discontinue the stamps of the two leaders. The Centre would continue to respect Indira Gandhi as a former Prime Minister but if it were to be between Indira Gandhi and Mahatma Gandhi, it was undoubtedly the latter. On the demands for declassifying files related to the death of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, he said that he was unaware of the contents of the files that the West Bengal Government had declassified on Friday.
