Compu Fest 2012, a three-day exhibition of computer and communication related products organised by Coimbatore Information Technology Association (CITA), evoked good response with more than 3,000 people visiting the expo on the first day at Padmavathy Ammal Cultural Centre on Avanashi Road.

The expo was inaugurated by Chief Executive Officer of Park Group of Institutions Anusha on Friday.

K. Mohan, President of CITA, said that the expo is divided into two segments with hall A and B accommodating over 70 stalls. The uniqueness of the expo is the special offer to students in addition to the special price package offered to the public making it highly competitive compared to the markets.

On the first day, the stall owners i.e., participants witnessed a huge demand for laptops and tablet PCs. The other products that attracted tech savvy buyers were desktop computers, telecom products, accessories for computers such as speakers, headphones, USB devices, wireless LAN related products, wi-fi routers, web cameras, surveillance cameras, UPS for systems and houses.

Mr. Mohan expected the response to grow further during the week-end on Saturdays and Sundays as the prices offered at the expo will just not be available in the market.
