Complaints from investors in emu firms continue to pour in, with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) receiving around 1,264 complaints for fraud to the tune of Rs. 27.46 crore till the weekend.

Ever since the returns/income from their investments stopped, the investors became suspicious and what started as a trickle a couple of weeks almost turned into a deluge of complaints mostly from rural areas.

According to sources in the police, the EOW is probing into 747 complaints relating to cheating to the tune of Rs. 17.51 crore against Susi Emu Farms and 452 complaints relating to cheating (Rs. 9.77 crore) against Queen Emu farms. There were 10 complaints of cheating (Rs. 17.50 lakh) against S.M. Emu Farms and another 55 complaints about cheating (Rs. 78 lakh) against Sandiya Emu Farms.

On collection of papers relating to the investments made and after obtaining legal opinion, the EOW have begun to set the law in motion.
