M. Mahesh, a resident of Ganapathy who is working in an IT firm in Bengaluru, has lodged a complaint with the City Police Commissioner alleging that a few college students engaged in the sale of drugs had threatened him and his friend Vishal of dire consequences as they attempted to expose them.

Mahesh said that Hari, Kishore, Kannan, and Sreejith, owed him money.

When he went to their room in P.K. Pudur a few days ago, they had told him that he could take their laptop and mobile phones in lieu of the money and could return the gadgets when they repaid him.

When he checked the phone, he found that they were peddling ganja and ‘LSD.’

When his friend Vishal confronted them, the students threatened him too. Vishal had lodged a complaint with the police.

Vishal and Mahesh have handed over the laptop and one of the two phones to the police.

Another person claiming to be a lawyer too had threatened them with dire consequences.

Mahesh said that he had handed over the second phone too to the police.

The Police arrested the four on Thursday on Valparai Road as they attempted to flee with the money Bhuvaneswaran had given them.

They were on the lookout for four more persons.

The police said that when Bhuvaneswaran had sought advice from his friend, Balan (45) of Villupuram, to start a business.

Then, a four-member gang dressed as police entered Bhuvaneswaran’s house claiming that they have to search his house for ‘ganja.’

They later took ₹7 lakh and ran away.
