Complaint against couple for fraud

The City Crime Branch are probing into the complaints lodged by a number of investors who were duped allegedly by Subramani and Sundari, a couple. The couple cheated them of their investments by running a chit fund scheme.

The couple who hailed from Pannaikadu, near Kodaikanal. The couple had promised attractive returns. But the after the period expired, the couple had not only failed to pay the matured returns but also fled the place.

Their house in Balamurugan Nagar remained locked. The investors said that the total amount they had invested could be around Rs. 35 lakh.

Children kidnapped

Perur Police are on the lookout for a Nazeer, who they said, had kidnapped siblings Sonu Ahamed, 9, and Katheeja Sania, 7.

The Police said that Nazeer’s estranged wife Sulekha, 47, had lodged a complaint stating when she and her children were returning home from the latter’s school on December 12, Nazeer had pushed her and kidnapped their children.

Commits suicide

Manimegalai, 23, a resident of SITRA, committed suicide at her residence on Saturday by hanging herself. According to the All Woman Police – East, the woman resorted to the extreme step as she was unable to withstand her in-laws’ torture. The woman had said so in her suicide note, the Police said and added that Manimegalai was the wife of head constable Gopalan, who worked at the Inspector General of Police’s office.

Youth arrested

Thudiyalur All Woman Police have arrested 19-year-old Aravind on charges molesting a minor girl.

According to the Police, the youth, who worked as a cleaner, lured the four-year-old girl, his neighbour, saying he wanted to click her pictures, took her to his house in Shastri Nagar, Sirumugai, and allegedly molested her.

The girl who resisted and cried. Hearing her cries, the residents and asked her what had happened. When she narrated the incidents, the residents of the area thrashed Aravind and handed him over to the Police. The girl and Aravind were admitted to hospitals.

Two arrested

Selvapuram Police have arrested Telugupalayam resident Meenakshi, 39, and her son Saravanan,16, on charges of assaulting a 19-year-old girl and stoning her.

The Police said that the mother-son duo assaulted Pavithra when she went to the Selvapuram Tank area to collect the dues the two owed her mother Bharathi.

Pups stolen

The Periyanaickenpalayam Police have registered a case against two persons on charges of robbing a Naickenpalayam resident of two pups of the Tibetan Terrier pups.

According to the Police, Sabitha Chandrasekar had said that Nava India resident Aishwarya Kanthamani and another person had lifted two pups from her house on Saturday.
