Commotion prevailed at Kavundampalayam area on Friday over reported clash between the cadres of Bharatiya Janata Party and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam over the poll results. The police said that a clash erupted between the two party cadres over teasing each other. Two BJP cadre were injured in the clash. They were admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. However, the police said that both the parties did not prefer complaint.

Tension prevailed at Kurumbapalayam in Sulur on Friday night following a minor clash between Sundaramurthy, an Independent candidate, and MDMK cadre.

Sundaramurthy was celebrating his victory over MDMK candidate Ponnusamy when a quarrel erupted between their supporters which led to a clash.
