Commercial complex on Cross Cut Road unsafe for use, says Corporation

June 19, 2014 08:54 am | Updated 08:54 am IST - COIMBATORE:

The Coimbatore Corporation has stuck a notice of caution informing people visiting a commercial complex on Cross Cut Road that the building was unsafe for use as it stood in 100 per cent violation of rules. The notice also says that a case regarding the building was pending before the Madras High Court.

The Corporation officials said that after the civic body issued a notice for lock and seal to the building owner sometime in 2013, the owner had moved the court, which issued a stay order and asked status quo to be maintained.

But, the building owner had allegedly modified the structure internally and let it on rent to a textile shop.

This led to the Corporation sticking the notice on Wednesday. The Corporation will take up the case before the court soon, the officials added.
