Coimbatore woman goes missing with jewellery

Mohanapriya, 21, of Kittampalayam, Karumathampatty, had been reported missing with jewellery weighing 35 sovereigns and Rs. 15,000 in cash, said Karumathampatty Police, who had registered a case in this connection.

Mohanapriya, who got married only seven months ago, went missing from her parents’ house after her husband Rameshkumar, 24, had left her there after a feast.

The couple went there following an invitation from Mohanapriya’s parents. After wedding, she stayed at her husband’s house in Sulur.

The police said that after searching for the woman, her relatives had lodged a complaint.

Based on the complaint, the police said they had registered a case and begun investigations.

Youth succumbs to injuries

C. Thangadurai, 25, of Rathinapuri succumbed on Friday to injuries he sustained in a road accident on Tuesday last.

According to the Traffic Investigation Wing Police, in the incident that happened in Ganapathy, the motorcycle he was riding was involved in the accident with another two-wheeler. Thangadurai’s friend Sadiq Ali was the pillion rider.

The police said that Thangadurai was rushed to a private hospital, where he succumbed.

The police had registered a case in this connection and arrested Kannan, 27.
