As part of the project, the civic body would also construct a wall along the Trichy Road end of the park, develop a ground and take up further development works in the Park. The decision to develop the Park was part of an earlier resolution to develop parks on lands earmarked for public use with general funds. The objective was to development two such parks for each of the five zones and devote two of those for women.

The Council unanimously passed the resolution.

Thanking the Council, Deputy Mayor Leelavathi Unni said that her ward residents and she were happy for the Council deciding to establish a park there. It would go a long way in the development of the area.
