Coimbatore police personnel clean, paint school

Police officers and policemen from the west traffic division of the Coimbatore City Police on Sunday carried out cleaning operations at the Perur Panchayat Union Middle School in Kuniamuthur.

According to the police, an inspector, two sub-inspectors and 22 men under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, T.K. Rajasekaran, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic – West, Raj Khanna, Inspector Saravanan and others removed bushes, mounds of earth, cleaned the ground and whitewashed the buildings.

The police said that they had financial support from a Lions Club and had extended their labour.

The cleaning operations started at 8 a.m. and went on till 3 p.m.

The cleaning was only the latest in the series of such community efforts the police had taken in the recent past. The police had cleaned schools on Raja Street and Podanur and a college in R.S. Puram.
