The Central Crime Branch of the Coimbatore City Police has arrested Mahesh Raja and Rajmohan, partners in a real estate firm, based on a complaint from their estranged partners. The police have also seized four cars, 30 sovereign jewellery and Rs. 7 lakh in cash.
The police said that Mahesh Raja and Rajmohan had joined hands with Sivakumar, Sukumar, Antonysamy and Raja to promote a real estate firm. Mahesh Raja and Rajmohan managed the day-to-day affairs.
A fat profit they earned in a land deal made them cheat the other partners.
They failed to share the profit and used the money to lead a luxurious life. When Sivakumar and Sukumar questioned the two, Mahesh Raja and Rajmohan conned them into signing a paper to solve the issue. Only later did Sivakumar and Sukumar learn that Mahesh Raja and Rajmohan had cheated them by expelling them from the partnership and not sharing the profit.
Based on a complaint from Sivakumar, the police registered a case and arrested the two.
Attempts suicideThe Thudiyalur All Woman Police have registered a case against 19-year-old Gowri on the charge of attempting suicide. The police said that following differences with her in-laws the woman tried to hang herself at home but was rescued by neighbours who rushed in hearing the cries of her parents-in-law. Her husband was away in Chennai on work.
