Loganathan says that he was being indirectly threatened by AIADMK members and they had coerced his house owner into asking him to vacate

Independent candidate in the Coimbatore mayoral election A. Loganathan has lodged a complaint with the Coimbatore City Police on Tuesday saying that he was being forced out of his house for contesting the election.

He said that he was being indirectly threatened by AIADMK members, who had coerced his house owner into asking him to vacate. His house owner, Amutha, called him up a couple of days ago asking him to vacate the house her family had given him for no rent.

The family was also his employer. He worked at their engineering unit in Krishna Colony as a welder for the past 30 years.

He said that Amutha had told him that she was under pressure from the ruling party to ask him to vacate because he contested the election.

With his daughter studying in a nearby school and he being a poor labourer, he had no where to go.

Plus, if he went around campaigning without protection there was every chance of he being roughed up, Mr. Loganathan said and sought protection.
