Vadavalli Police have arrested an engineer, Manoharan, on charges of forging a building plan approval document.

The police said that when Sriram Avenue residents Ramachandran and his wife Agilandeswari approached Manoharan, who was registered with the Corporation, for preparing a building plan, he had told the couple that the plot was unapproved and that he could help them get the plot approved as well.

Trusting Manoharan’s words, they paid him money. After sometime, Manoharan returned with the necessary documents. The couple constructed the house and approached the Corporation for tax assessment. The Corporation officials told them that the construction was illegal as there was no permission. And when the couple showed them the documents, they said that it was forged.
