Coimbatore Corporation on Monday sealed five buildings on Big Bazaar Street, N.H. Road and in Sukrawarpet. A release from the civic body said that the first building on Big Bazaar Street did not have the necessary setback area.
In the second building, also on Big Bazaar Street, the builder had without permission constructed second floor. The permission was only for constructing ground and first floor. In Sukrawarpet, the builder of the building that was sealed had constructed the second floor without permission. Likewise, on N.H. Road, the authorities sealed buildings where the builder had gone in for additional floor without permission.
