Out of 2,372 students from 16 schools, 2,178 clear examinations

Corporation schools achieved a pass percentage of 91.82 in the Plus Two public examinations 2014, a slight improvement over last year’s achievement of 89.59 per cent.

According to a press release, 2,178 of the total 2,372 students from 16 Corporation higher secondary schools cleared the exams.

With 1,159 marks, S. Karthika Devi of Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School, Oppanakara Street, stood first among Corporation school students. She secured centum in physics.

The second place went to K. Gayathri of Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School, R.S. Puram who scored 1,146.

M. Rajalakshmi, also from Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School, Oppanakara Street, occupied the third place with 1,139 marks. She secured centum in commerce, accountancy and business mathematics.

The pass percentage among boys was 86.11 and for girls, 94.68.

A total of 792 boys and 1,580 girls took the public examinations.

Centum

Over all, Corporation school students achieved centum in 21 subjects. Of the 16 Corporation school, the Corporation Higher Secondary School, Okkaliyar colony, achieved cent per cent pass percentage.

No school had achieved cent per cent pass percentage in last year’s Plus Two public examinations. Corporation Commissioner G. Latha honoured the three toppers of Corporation schools.
