Returning Officer, Coimbatore Parliamentary constituency, and Collector Archana Patnaik told journalists on Wednesday that she was looking into complaints of misuse of vehicles by the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam workers to transport people to the venues where the party leader Jayalalithaa had campaigned on Tuesday.

She said that people and in particular the Communist Party of India-Marxist leaders had complained that private buses were diverted to ferry people. She had taken note of the complaint and had asked for reports from the Regional Transport Officers concerned and other officials.

Once the reports were ready she would take the necessary action.

She also said that she had asked the Sub-Collector, Pollachi, Rashmi Sidharth Jagade, to reply in writing to allegations that there was a misuse of her official vehicle.
