Chennai banker succumbs to A (H1N1) flu in Coimbatore

After more than a year, an A (H1N1) influenza death was reported here on Tuesday.

A 48-year-old man, who had tested positive late on Monday, died past midnight after being shifted from a private hospital to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

Public health authorities said his was the fifth case of A (H1N1) death. Four were reported last year.

Deputy Director of Health Services S. Senthilkumar said the dead person was a deputy general manager in a nationalised bank in Chennai residing at Mahalakshmi Nagar.
