Charitable hospital project launched at Annur

Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and Kerala Governor P. Sathasivam on Saturday launched a project for constructing a 120-bed charity hospital at an outlay of Rs. 20 crore at Mudalipalayam near Ganesapuram in Annur. The project is being launched to mark the 90{+t}{+h}birthday of Perur Adheenam Thavathiru Santhalinga Ramasamy Adigalar. The land is being given by the family of the Illayapattam Marudachala Adigalar.

The hospital will be constructed and run by a trust comprising comprising S.V. Balasubramaniam, Chairman Bannari Amman group of companies, M. Manickam, Chairman, Sakthi group of companies, Dr. Nalla G Palaniswami, Chairman, Kovai Medical Center and Hospital, J.G. Shanmuganathan, Chairman of Ganga Hospital, O. Arumugasamy - Chairman, Senthil group of companies, K.Ramasamy, Chairman, Roots group of companies.

The hospital to begin with will have general medicine, surgery, gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics and emergency medical care in the first phase. The other specialities will be introduced in a phased manner, the trustees said.

The hospital project was commissioned as part of the three-day long event to mark the birthday of Thavathiru Santhalinga Ramasamy Adigalar that began on October 8.
