Case registered against Tirupur Mayor

An FIR has been registered against K Selvaraj, DMK Mayor of Tirupur City, for alleged irregularities in taking a house in auction from a nationalised bank sometime ago.

A woman had lodged a complaint that Mr. Selvaraj and some persons had allegedly manipulated auctioning of the house by the bank and took Rs two crore worth house for Rs 59 lakh in “collusion” with a senior bank official, police said.

Based on the complaint, police registered FIR against Mr. Selvaraj and taken him for questioning, they said.

A case has also been registered against the bank official, police said.
