Budding designers showcase their talent

Over 300 budding designers from 20 colleges got an opportunity to showcase their talent at ‘Trends Futura’, an inter-collegiate competition organised at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management here on Friday.

Students from departments of textiles, apparel and fashion, from arts and science, and engineering colleges, took part in various activities such as paper presentation, draping, computer-aided garment designing, adzap, surface ornamentation, jewellery designing, printing techniques, portfolio presentation, fashion illustration, etc.

K. Kumarasamy, Secretary of Kalaivani College of Technology, inaugurated the event and stressed the importance of team building and team work.

S.R. Pujar, Director of the institute, urged the participants to exhibit their skills and bring their creativity to the fore.
