BJP stages protest over bad roads

November 16, 2017 08:07 am | Updated 08:07 am IST - Coimbatore

Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party led by State general secretary Vanathi Srinivasan and district president C.R. Nandhakumar staged a protest on Wednesday by filling a pot hole on Bharathiar Road with concrete.

Mr. Nandhakumar said the party had to resort to such novel protest to draw the attention of the Coimbatore Corporation officials, who had not paid attention to fill potholes on city roads.

Almost all city roads were damaged and that led to accidents.

Leave alone filling the pot holes and topping them with bitumen, the Corporation had not cared to even fill those with earth or debris.
