The State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party at its executive committee meeting urged the Centre to dismiss the Kerala government for the continued attacks on Tamils over the Mullaperiyar issue and the deteriorating law and order in the State.
This was one of the resolutions adopted by the party at its two-day State Executive meeting held at Mettupalayam, near Coimbatore. The meeting was attended by State president Pon. Radhakrishnan, vice-president H. Raja, former State party presidents L. Ganesan, K.M. Lakshmanan, State secretary G.K.S. Selvakumar, Coimbatore district party president R. Nandakumar.
A resolution adopted on Saturday said the continued attacks on Tamils and their properties by anti-social elements were instigated by politicians.
The resolution said the attacks on Ayyappa devotees, buses and shops belonging to Tamils were clear indication of the deteriorating law and order situation in Kerala and urged the Centre to dismiss the government.
The resolution said that whichever party came to power in Kerala since 1963 refused to provide water to Tamil Nadu and raise the height of dam beyond 120 feet.
The resolution said agriculture in Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram districts were hit by the inadequate supply of water.
It said the Centre remained a mute spectator to the Kerala government's stand and continuing attack on Tamil people.
