BJP nominee for the Coimbatore Lok Sabha constituency C.P. Radhakrishnan has released a four-page, Coimbatore-centric manifesto.
One of his promises is that he will take steps to implement the Avinashi-Athikadavu scheme.
He will take steps to disburse agriculture loans at 4 per cent interest, ensure a favourable minimum support price for various agriculture produces, help establish green huts on the city’s periphery to cultivate vegetables, and bring in a pension scheme for small farmers and farm labourers.
TransparencyMr. Radhakrishnan has promised to bring about a transparent and an easy system of administration in departments dealing with business and entrepreneurship development.
There would be a single window system to deal with business.
A special apportionment of funds will be made for micro industries.
He will work towards bring about a technology upgradation fund for small and micro engineering firms, extend the term loan period to 15 years, and only those loans where no payments had been made for six months will be classified as bad debts.
As for developing the city’s infrastructure, the BJP nominee has promised a satellite, smart city near Coimbatore, widening all national highways passing through the district to four lane, formation of ring roads, night trains to Bangalore and Chennai, and early completion of the Coimbatore-Pollachi gauge conversion work.
He will bring metro train service to the city, expand the Coimbatore Airport, and create a logistics hub on the city’s outskirts.
Mr. Radhakrishnan has said that he will establish technology and management institutions and a medical college.
