For D. Satya (21), a resident of Thillai Nagar, it has been miserable days even after she got selected as a beneficiary by District Industries Centre to start self-employment venture under the government sponsored- Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme three months back.
Ms. Satya told The Hindu that her application seeking loan to start a small-scaling garment making unit under the programme was promptly processed by the DIC to the nationalised bank concerned only to get the document stuck there without the credit getting disbursed.
“The bank’s branch situated near Collectorate is yet to release the loan to offset the project cost of Rs. 4,99,763 which include the capital expenditure of Rs 3,99,763 and the working capital of Rs 1 lakh,” she said. Official sources said that of the loan amount, Rs 74, 964 could be claimed by the bank as subsidy from District Industries Centre.
The girl and her parents, on Monday, met the District Collector and other senior officials seeking their intervention to get the credit disbursed at the earliest.
