Association plea to govt. on reimbursement of fees

Tamil Nadu Nursery, Primary, Matriculation and Higher Secondary Schools Welfare Association have urged the Government to reimburse fees for seats under the RTE Act.

A resolution to this effect was passed during a meeting of the association members here on Saturday. The schools were e yet to be reimbursed for students admitted in the past two years, the resolution said.

Association general secretary G. Krishnaraj said that schools that are not meeting the land norms should not be closed down till the expert committee on minimum land requirements submitted its report.

He urged the Department of School Education to expeditiously process the files regarding the recognition of schools. He also called upon the Transport Department to relax some of the norm regarding school buses.
