Rotary Club of Coimbatore will confer the Vocational Excellence Award to singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyan at Kikani School auditorium here on Sunday. The Hindu is the media partner.
The Club said Mr. Balasubrahmanyan was chosen for the award for his contribution to the field of art and music. He has sung over 40,000 songs in four languages and has also acted in and produced films. The club also said that the earlier recipients of the award were industrialists, professionals, eminent scientists and social workers.
Industrialists N. Mahalingam, Jairam Vardaraj, Vijay Mohan, educationist D. Padmanabhan and surgeon V.P. Shanmugasundaram were some of the recipients.
