The district has registered a pass percentage of 90.8 in the Plus-Two examination results announced on Tuesday.

Of the 20,377 students who wrote the examinations, as many as 18,502 passed.

Among boys, 8,025 students out of the 9,094 successfully cleared the examination with pass percentage standing at 88.25.

The pass percentage among girls stood at 92.86 with 10,477 out of the 11,283 girls who wrote the examination passed.

Official sources said that B. Mohan Pradeep of Srinivasa Vidhyalaya Matriculation HSS, Udumalpet, scored 1,185 marks out of the total 1,200 marks to emerge as district topper.

He scored full 200 marks in commerce, accountancy and business mathematics papers, 197/200 in English and 197 in Tamil.

S.P. Krishnappan of R.G. Matriculation HSS, Udumalpet, and K.Kiruthika of Anoor Vidhyalaya Matriculation HSS, Muthur, finished second with 1,183 marks.

The third place went to J. Jayabrindhadevi of A.V.P.Trust Matriculation HSS, Tirupur, and R. Nivetha of St. Joseph's Matriculation HSS, Tirupur, who scored 1,182 marks each.
