Anti-nuclear Day to be observed

International Anti-nuclear Day will be observed at V.L.B. Janakiammal College of Arts and Science on August 6 and 9.

According to a release, a seminar on anti-nuclear devices will be held at 2.45 p.m. on August 6.

A district-level essay competition for school students will be held at 2 p.m. on August 9. Students from standards IX to XII can participate in the competition.

Topic

The topic is ‘Nuclear Power: A Boon or Bane' and can be written in Tamil. Students should appear for the competition with authorisation from the head of the institution. Two from each school are eligible to participate.

Cash prizes will be awarded to winners. Those interested can contact G. Suresh on 98425-13205.
