Alert us on violations: Coimbatore poll observers

The poll expenditure observers posted for Coimbatore and Pollachi constituencies to monitor the Lok Sabha election campaign have urged the public to alert them on poll violations by political parties.

District Collector and District Election Officer Archana Patnaik chaired a meeting of election observers at the Collectorate on Sunday.

Poll observers Padala Mohan Rao, in charge of Palladam, Sulur, and Singanallur Assembly segments; P. Imtiyaz Khan, in charge of Kavundampalayam, Coimbatore North, and Coimbatore South segments; Ranjan Prakash, in charge of Thondamuthur, Kinathukkadavu, and Pollachi Assembly segments; and Ved Prakash Singh, in charge of Valparai, Udumalpet, and Madathukulam Assembly segments, took part in the meeting.

According to an official release, the observers will function out of the Government Circuit House here. The observers on Saturday reviewed the arrangements for filing nominations. The officials said that all arrangements would be in place to ensure a free and fair elections.
