Aged woman cheated

The Ramanathapuram police are on the look out for two persons who had cheated an 88-year-old woman and escaped with one-and-a-half sovereigns of gold jewellery.

Seethaiyammal of Maruthur, Ramanathapuram, was sitting outside her house on Thursday when two men engaged in a conversation with her and asked whether the chain she was wearing was imitation jewellery or gold. Seethaiyammal said that it was gold jewellery and gave it to the duo. Receiving the jewellery they escaped. Based on a complaint, the police registered a case.

Burglary

Burglars broke into the shop of Sasikumar of Avarampalayam and decamped with Rs. 80,000 in cash. The incident came to light when Sasikumar came to the shop on Friday morning and found the front door lock broken. The Peelamedu police have registered a case.
