Action plan on the anvil to reform educational system

Bharathiar University here is working out agenda for the coming three years, considering the proposed reforms to be brought in the education system by both the Central and State Governments, its Vice—Chancellor, Dr C Swaminathan said on Saturday.

Replying to the felicitation given by the Association of Management of Private Colleges here, Dr. Swaminathan, who assumed charge a fortnight ago, said he had already held discussions with the heads of departments and deans for finalishing a draft plan for the purpose.

With 101 affiliated colleges under the Varsity, it was decided to offer the unutilised equipment, particularly in the sciene laboratory, for the benefit of those colleges, which were lacking the facility, he said.

Earlier, Dr B K Krishnaraja Vanavarayar, Chairman, Coimbatore Kendra of Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan and president, MGM College, Pollachi, fecilitated Swaminathan.
